3 Indoor Plants to have in your Home

Biophilia is a term which defines our natural affinity towards the nature. We love greenery, in park, garden, or anywhere else. Nature can even be considered the best de-stresser. However, the rapid urbanization doesn’t allow everyone with a home to have a wide expanse of greenery where we can go and relax ourselves. One solution to this is that we bring the nature to our home.

This is one of the reasons why people buy plants for home, both indoor and outdoor. If you, too, want to embrace your biophilic side and live relaxed and healthy lives, you should have plants at home.

Here is a list of plants that you can have at home:

1. Peace Lily
Peace Lily is a plant that, with its unique looks, adds beauty and elegance to the room. The best part about having it is that it can grow in indirect sunlight. An advantage of having peace lily at home is that purifies several chemicals from air, including, xylene, toluene, formaldehyde, and benzene.

2. Snake Plant
Known by its generic name, Sansevieria trifasciata, it adds a quite distinctive touch to the décor of the room, owing to its strap-like upright leaves. They grow well in indirect sunlight, but if you are placing it indoors, make sure the room is well-lit. If you place the plant near the window, then it is advised to turn the planter by a quarter every week. Furthermore, snake plant is in the list of houseplants suggested by NASA which filters the air.

3. Golden Pothos
If you think you have a black thumb, i.e. inability to grow plants, you can still grow a golden pothos plant. It grows well in low light and does not wither if you occasionally forget to water it. It is even belived that golden pothos is a plant which prefers to dry itself before the next watering. It is a common houseplant and is very easy to grow too. One of the common problems with other houseplants is rotting of the root. However, the golden pothos does not easily succumb to it.

The other plants which you can have at home include Aloe Vera, philodendron, and money plant. Whichever plant you buy for your home, buy the right planters for them as well. Bowl, rectangle, and square planters are some of the popular planter shapes people prefer. Do have a look at their material and sturdiness of the planters as well when buying them.
